Résumé 2024:

The Nyamibungu Referral Hospital is a missionary hospital having over 209395 (upgraded population estimate) inhabitants in its catchment area of Kitutu Health Zone. This rural hospital of 100 beds offers the complementary health care activities’ package.

The package includes outpatient, inpatients (gynecology, surgery, internal medicines and pediatrics), laboratory, radiology, administration and engineering services.

This year 2024, we provided care to 3161 patients (1221/38,6% in admission) mostly coming within our catchment area (96%) and all talked to a doctor within the 30 minutes at arrival.

The cure rate was acceptable (90,6%) and the death rate was 3,5% (no maternal death noted) with a bed occupancy rate of 73.5% and the average the cost of care was 27 USD per patient.

There was no staff turnover and the government promise to upgrade staffs’ wage is coming in drops.

The above described had been worsened with the conflicting context happening as we are writing this report but our building also needs a rehabilitation with iron sheets (below picture) as we are calling for emergency relieve supply by flight if possible.
